My first VW Golf and my first Diesel - Ah yes sweet memories !!

I was working in Liverpool and travelling from Nantwich every day, I had to get myself a diesel and this was it.

No turbo meant that this car was more like a diesel and required a different style of driving; Leave a gap behind the car in front, foot down slowly and gradually build up speed (do not change down!!), indicate and overtake!

However, this car obviously (or not) sipped at the diesel tank at a far lesser rate than the Turbo versions. With the GTI running gear, it certainly stuck to the road and stopped fast.

Best plusses; MPG, Diesel

Worst minuses; I sold it!!.

If you drive a petrol guzzler, change to an oil burner, even a Non-Turbo. Best of all, buy a VW !
